A little help along the way
Pocket Guestbook support
Email hello.launchdesk@gmail.com with your device model, iOS version, app version, and what happened. Please do not send private guest recordings unless needed and you have permission.
Get started
- Create a guestbook and choose an occasion, color theme, and message length.
- Tap Open guest booth. Set a 4-digit host PIN, then allow camera and microphone access.
- Place the phone somewhere stable. On a folding device, use a steady partially open position. On a standard iPhone or iPad, use a stand or hold it.
- Guests choose a prompt, enter a name if they wish, and record. Each guest can retake or keep the message.
- Use Host controls and your session PIN to return to the guestbook. Tap Make a keepsake movie, then share or save it to Files.
Camera or microphone not working?
Open iOS Settings, find Pocket Guestbook, and enable Camera and Microphone. Close other camera apps, ensure the device has free storage, then tap Retry camera. The iOS simulator does not provide a physical camera.
Where are my recordings?
Saved messages are stored inside Pocket Guestbook on this device. We do not store them on a server. Device backups may include them depending on your Apple settings. Uninstalling the app removes its local recordings.
A recording was interrupted
Return to the library and choose Recover unfinished recordings. Review the take and select a guestbook to save it to. Some files interrupted before capture finished may not be playable. Do not reinstall the app while trying to recover memories.
I forgot the host PIN
The PIN lasts for the current booth session. If necessary, close and reopen the app to end that session. Saved recordings remain in the library; an unfinished take may appear in recovery. The PIN prevents accidental exits; use iOS Guided Access if you need to lock the device to the app.
Purchases and restoring access
A free guestbook includes recording and exports. The lifetime unlock permits multiple guestbooks without a subscription. Use Settings → Restore Purchases with the Apple Account used to buy it. Apple handles billing and refund requests.
Export problems
Keep the app open while the movie is made. Free up device storage if needed. Exporting creates a new movie; it does not replace your originals. Mixed portrait and landscape recordings are fitted into the movie without cropping.
Deleting data
Delete an individual message from its review screen or delete an event from its menu. These actions cannot be undone. Copies previously shared, exported, or backed up must be managed separately.
